i haven’t read all of the 2nd novel for this reason, so forgive me if my view is shortsighted. but i have found it really difficult to create content for this fandom knowing the “rules” of the canon universe are able to be bent in such a way that ties up all the loose ends a little too kindly

but it felt like all of the actions KRS took in the first book that operated as an extension of the soos memories—like, their lives were continuing through the act of KRS living—suddenly lost a lot of meaning.
(especially CJS—isn’t the point of the choi family that they are only able to live once?)

but then, the re-introduction of the soos in the second novel made all of this feel sort of… hollow? of course, in-universe, it’s a beautiful thought: the cast we love can all be happy and together working towards fighting against the forces that tore them apart in the first place

in particular, i feel like the author has cheapened “death.”
the finality of loss is a defining feature of KRS’s life, and the permanence of death, the weight of consequences—toward the end of simply enjoying being alive—are key characteristics in the world and motivations for the characters
