Biggest pain of the Pico, Python works like a charm as does C/C++ but when it comes to bare metal Assembly, having to work with UF2 conversions.

Next step is working on low level drivers in C for GPIO, Timer, uart and systick.

When my hands get a little board I play, and then I come up with several more ideas.... it's a good distraction when I feel a little stressed sometimes.

I have always loved computers and tech from the age of eight so I have been around and working with technology for the best part of 4 decades.

I have used so many different systems and operating systems I have lost count of them all. For the past decade or more i have used Linux and Mac.

So in the UK alone in the past year or so, the MOD, M&S, JLR, Coop, multiple NHS trusts, and a children’s nursery group have been hacked.

The government think a national, digital ID service will help with a singular issue. They feel this will work because it has worked in other countries.

So going back many many years, my first and only retail OS I ever bought from a computer store now long gone.

Red hat 5.2, I thought it was funny at the time, you know, not having to download and ‘make’ a version of Linux… I think this was also the last Redhat distribution of Linux I ever used.

So I was never much of a gaming fan, never really got into games consoles, but the Linux powered Steam Deck has been something of a revelation!

I have been a valve user for a while, many indie games and not many so called AAA games, however I do rather like Tolkien’s work….

So I have finally gotten around to sorting out Endeavour OS on my Surface Pro 6, WiFi and Bluetooth fully working and for a few bonus points I got the camera working as well.

However as a nice curve ball Cheese shows the rear as upside down.

Ohh something interesting, I have a Macbook M3 amongst the pile of laptops I use, I doubted the use of this laptop for virtual machine work under Parallels.

However having now used it, and discovered the emulation of an x64 system, well wow, even though I have only used Ubuntu server

See this is why I dislike Broadcom hardware, the BCM43…… is a pain in the arse. You sometimes get WiFi and sometimes Bluetooth but rarely together. This does depend on the drivers being used though.

Just the starting point of my Python web scraper, BS4, Tk and requests. I have a few more thing I wanted to do regarding elements and making a small database etc of date scraped.

A very good mixture, MacBook Air M3, with UTM running Linux Arm version.

I have enjoyed the M3 MacBook so far but going from x86 to Arm assembly is quite a learning curve 🤪🤣

I do like Python for simplicity

l = len(translated)
Remove_last = translated[:l-1]

Saved me loosing my marbles hunting down a rouge extra character that appears on a new app I was playing with.

First creation in a while, Python Caesar Cipher app! Bit rough around the edges but I have enjoyed refreshing on Tkinter!

I didn’t think I would like the iPad Air 11 inch as much as I do, stage manager is a welcome change in my opinion xxx

So I have tried the following Distro’s with the Microsoft Surface Pro

- Debian
- Ubuntu
- Pop OS
- Tuxedo OS

Having trouble getting Manjaro, Arch and Fedora to even go through the initial setup and install. So further investigation when I get a moment.

Microsoft Surface Pro + Linux is a highly usable cacophony of fun! Although you might adopt a few grey hairs in the process 🤪
