To be clear about the article, fatphobia makes people, institutions, and society broadly believe that we are not deserving of the same access to citizenship and social services as thinner people! They see us as drains and leeches on society! Especially when we are marginalized in other ways

Yes personal choice and autonomy is essential, but that’s exactly WHY that if someone expresses wanting to lose weight for their health, I’m not gonna apologize for saying “hey, maybe make sure it’s what you truly want, consider second opinions, and consider if the weight is actually ‘the problem’”
