Then I put it all together into 1 word, translated it into an MD5 hash using an online hash generator, submitted that hash as the password, and the rest is history. (6/6)

To earn the badge, I also had to determine the approximate time that the photo was taken. To do that, I approximated the angle the photograph was taken at, looked at the angles of the shadows, and (tbh) took a wild guess within probably a 3-hour timeframe. My second guess was correct. (5/ )

I then used Google to search "street sign with cities and their distances [city name]." Google had my back, quickly directing me to the right location. I used Google Maps and Streetview, comparing the surrounding buildings in the images to verify I was in the right place. (4/ )

The first point of intersect landed in the middle of the ocean, so I quickly ruled that point out. The second point was in a major US city, the perfect place for the kind of sign in the jpg. (3/ )

SEINT provided a jpg of a street sign showing various cities and their distances from the street sign. This makes geolocating pretty easy; I went to mapdevelopers . com and drew a circle from 2 cities with the radius listed. The circles intersected in two places. (2/ )
