Uhh, yes. That was because the razor sharp spurs in the back of their legs were nicknamed "leghorns". I always figured it was common knowledge. That along with being called a foghorn because he was a bellicose wanker who would never STFU.

I respect all kids who do sports while taking classes. As my daughter often complained, she had no life. She actually had 2 more years of eligibility because, COVID. But she said no way would she play while in grad school.
