Great read. As someone entering the product world soon, this seems to make a lot of sense to me. We aren't making a design system for the sake of saying we have one - it's meant to be used by multiple product roles. And proper usage means knowing what they need to do, and showing how we help that.

Designing for the most vulnerable of us first often leads to benefits for all of us. We tend to forget that ability is temporary, situational, and a spectrum. While I'm not deaf, I do struggle with focus and audio processing. I don't need subtitles, but they massively improve my experience.

There's so much about it to love. The environments are gorgeous, the action feels great, and I honestly don't mind the lore changes. I even like the characters.
Just most of the game is monotonous and lacking depth. The dialogue could have been so much more. So much to do, that feels meaningless.

Thank you, I'd like to think so. I've much respect for what you do and in another life I may have picked architecture as well. I'm fascinated by space and structure. Great to meet you!

Ahhhh yeah okay I 100% feel that. I hope its at least worth your time and effort. Grad school has this same effect on me.. I'm here procrastinating when I've got two sets of hifi designs to finish and a PRD to write before Monday at 9am.

I feel that. I'm sorry you're stressing over it! Are any of the tools you are using able to help manage and sort the data you're getting? There's only do much you can do with mixed data in terms of automation, but maybe there's a way to give you some video game time.

It depends on how they go about it, but generally, yes. The more fingers in the pot the more likely I'm to believe that there's a large corporation pulling some levers behind the scenes. I'd be somewhat okay with it if they were ads for reputable, smaller, or community owned businesses.

I'm completely with you. From my education in community design, I understood how problematic and behavior-influencing social media tools could be, but it's finally hit the cartoonish levels of villainy for me. Little trust in algorithms has become zero over the course of weeks.
