Here's my hot take: The only people who invest the time of writing a "dark romance" are people who have trauma they're working through or are otherwise "stuck" in that adolescent POV. You're never going to find a dark romance written like an adult because we realize it's bullshit.

That verse alone is why I can't stomach the OT/NT dichotomy a lot of Christians try to push. The OT God wasn't ONLY fire and brimstone. If you're having a hard time making sense of him, that's on YOU!

One of my favorite moments in Genesis is when God saw that Leah wasn't loved, so he gave her a child. Like, for real? This God that turned people to salt for looking backwards also feels sorry for this unloved lady? Wild!
