The part that's most heartbreaking is that I know scientists who've made proposals like this. They're well-meaning but completely naive. I've attended UN meetings for5+ years and seen first-hand the damage these kinds of "studies" do to policy. They're on the wrong team and they don't even know it 😮💨

I’d add, for me at least, that this IS ultimately the kind of relationship I’d like to have with law enforcement, and that often does exist in small towns. Police should know the people of their community and be part of that community.
