Exciting new research from Prof Tom Bird's group and collaborators has shown that the senescence of liver cells induces multi-organ senescence and dysfunction and identifies the TGFβ pathway as a critical mediator of this spread
Hepatocellular senescence induces multi-organ senescence and dysfunction via TGFβ - Nature Cell Biology
Kiourtis et al. show that liver senescence triggers senescence and dysfunction in other organs through TGFβ secretion from the liver.
