Agreed. That’s why it’s a public good and should be treated as such which in my opinion means it should be free to use, like libraries and parks.

Well that’s not true. City council is always trying to run OC Transpo like a “business”. I’m sure other cities try to do the same. It seems to be the prevailing mentality that transit is a business not a public good therefore it should at least break even if not be profitable.

Okay, and is it expected to be profitable? Is the sewer system expected to run like a company.

I’m really looking forward to the Heron/Baseline Transitway. It needs to be fast-tracked and built soon! It’s an important connection for the system that will increase ridership significantly.

I’m really looking forward to the Heron/Baseline Transitway. I saw it was mentioned in today’s meeting and I hope it gets fast-tracked and built soon! I think it’s a really important connection that will increase system ridership significantly.

I wish they would!

Don’t worry, he’ll forget about his list of demand by next week. He’s an old man with dementia. We can just ignore what he says.

Maybe it’s time we try having no fares? Having users pay for the public good of transit doesn’t seem to be working.

We clearly aren’t getting much value for the exorbitant fares we pay. Public transit is infrastructure. Like roads, and parks. It’s not a business. It’s a public good.

I love how city council voted to jack up fares - making sure that Ottawa remains the most expensive transit system in the country - and then OC Transpo immediately fails massively with somehow even worse bus service and pulls 70% of trains from service.

Just wild!

More expensive and even worse!

Neither is anyone else apparently! 🤣

It would probably cheaper for SpaceX to just buy Atlas robots from Boston Dynamics…and Atlas actually works!
