This past Monday, I went to the St. Bernard Parish dump on Paris Rd. St. Bernard residents are allowed to use it for free. I signed in at the gate with a friendly guy staying warm in a pickup.

Had a big tire discarded by my house and now it's gone. Wish everything could be fixed as easily.

My two favorites of an all around great bunch.

My regular Walmart delivery people are super and I appreciate them. There must be an interloper today. Will my groceries arrive before 6? It's a low stakes mystery.

Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Chalmette has a drive through for ashes starting at 11 am today. I'm not Evangelical Lutheran. I rarely interact with church. When they say all are invited, they mean it. Very kind and welcoming people.
This year, Gethsemane Lutheran Church (2825 Paris Rd., Chalmette) is taking Ash Wednesday to the streets! We are having ASHES TO GO, a drive thru (or walk up as the case may be) for people to receive ashes and communion on Ash Wednesday, March 5th from 11am to 6pm! We’re offering ashes on the street corner today because that reminder of need, humility, and healing shouldn’t be confined to a church building. We probably need it more when we are in the middle of our daily business! The ashes we receive here are to remind us throughout the day of our need for God, and of God’s call to us.
