Fair too. but again, could have picked any other person to explain the complex reasons for Finland's cooperation with the Germans at that time frame, and not use the guy who's entire history could also be summed up with 'i loved fighting (killing) enough to do it in 3 different wars'.

i think the main issue is they could have picked any other person with a less complicated legacy (like Simo Häyhä), glossing over a not insignificant part of the history of the person kinda makes it at the very least disingenuous, if not maybe outright malicious (i.e. platforming nazis).

Extra disappointing when some of those would rather support going abroad for that surplus store (which supposedly is very fash behind the scenes) version of the brutality matches than go to a local one.
I guess the perks/money is too good to not pass it up.

on the gaming side, blackwell was such a letdown i would assume the compute side didnt see any large increases either.
As a gamer looking at upgrading, kinda hopes this kicks them down a notch especially when they clearly screwed that one steady part of their market for a highly speculative one.

I find it mindboggling that some are afraid of them leaving the US, a land where they have the bulk of their customers and are actually free to conduct business as they want with least amount of oversight and creating a technology gap vs the world.
Where are they going to move to, EU? China? Russia?

Now that you found out how toast works, does this mean the sandwich shop is going to be open again?

I mean you have Jeffries, AOC and a lot of younger Dems on the wings with popular support and the old guard are starting to actually go out. Bernie was unfortunately caught at the wrong time while they were in power but going accelerationist now with the literal devil as the other choice is foolish.

You'd think the country that created pragmatism would understand that picking the less worse option is still going to be miles better than doing nothing and letting the country slide farther right and a knock on effect of bigger world instability.

And now there's going to be even less push for any consequences and it's going to be even worse. And Israel going to Russia or China for weapons if the US abandons it could have happened (and even less restrictions on use). People thinking it should always be black and white are living in a fantasy.

Yeah and that's why i'm pulling parallels with what happened with Brittany Griner: People loudly talked that they werent doing enough to get her free which pressured the Biden admin to make a worse deal to get it over with (look up the merchant of death.) Now it's Trump winning instead.

I get that people are mad about the lethal aid but thinking that was unequivocal agreement of the administration to slaughtering Palestinians are missing the forest for a small bush.

I meant not making it worse by getting Iran (and it's proxies) involved. Weapon shipments are a drop in the water versus witholding it & signalling to SEA that it would not honor contracts/agreements & Russia is already empowered. Also Ukraine had 4m displaced in ~4yrs versus ~2m in the West Bank.
January 20, 2025 at 1:09 PM
As a outsider, i never got this. The Biden admin was trying to look like a reliable ally after Ukraine, while trying to keep the ME stable. Reminds me of what happened with Griner/Russia, where people misunderstanding that behind the scenes negotiations were happening, and it lead to a bad deal.

Isnt it a name of a 5-1/4" hard drive? kinda remember opening a Compaq prebuilt and seeing one.

well, In that case it would have damaged tesla (or spacex) and those comprised two halves of his early identity/brand in the first place (tesla going under would have taken out a lot of his diehard supporters clinging on to their stocks).

I'd guess there's an alternate reality out there where elon's cave rescue sub was used and it went all wrong that he got shunned and we never heard from him again.
