Chat, we are, indeed, so back: we've taken the original Criterion Collection supercut from two years ago, updated it, changed the music, fixed the editing, and (because we enjoy pain and suffering) replaced EVERY SINGLE CLIP from top to bottom. We have our reasons. youtu.be/SJ6u0F1ruzI?...

I was vaguely aware that there was a Rutles tribute album. I was not aware that it included Daniel Johnston, Shonen Knife, King Missile, Bongwater, Galaxy 500, Syd Straw, and Penn Jillette's band Bongos Bass & Bob. And that's the MAINSTREAM portion. Weird as balls.

On Letterboxd I had all of two full reviews, and since one got moved to the RO login I figured I'd move the other one. I don't know why this and The Apple are the only ones to get the full treatment. (Wait, I remember: the attention span of a caffeinated hummingbird.) letterboxd.com/reckonedopin...
A ★★★ review of The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)
Usually, when I first watch a movie, as soon as it’s over I jump online to record my first-blush star rating, then adjust it later if time has reshaped my reaction to it. Within minutes of finishing T...

So yes, new spur-of-the-moment video drops this week. Watch this space. Man, this is a bad idea.

...and here we see the scrappy feral YouTuber, freshly awakened from his long hibernation, emerging blinking in the midday sun as he leaves his burrow to make the long journey back to his Adobe Premiere window....

(Yes, I'm getting back to work. Next video's script written. Stay tuned.)

Yesterday I watched someone's personal Greatest Films of All Time list on YouTube, and spent the entire time thinking, "Ye gods, what the hell is THIS bullsh*t?" Sadly, the video was mine. #amIgonnahavetodothisagain? #trusttheprocess #siiiiiigh

So when I took a couple months off from editing, it didn't mean I also took time off from scheming and plotting. Bad news is that I don't actually know how to relax. Good news is that you get two videos in the space of a week.
New video drops tomorrow. It was hella fun to do. Watch this space.

What in the name of decency is Adam doing? He's enjoying a lovely bagel with cream cheese and chili crisp. He's also putting the finishing touches on a new video, while celebrating that he can finally justify buying this %#$!ing DVD. Coming soon!

Since I had the pleasure—nay, the privilege— of seeing The Apple on the big screen last month, I decided to move my review from my personal page to the RO Letterboxd account. I think it's happier over there.

Review of ‘The Apple’ (1980) ★

Things have been quiet in Reckoned Opinionburg—that last video burned me out more than expected. But I'm here to reassure you that things are happening in the background: a new shorts series, the next '90s alternative countdown, a few supercuts, and a back-pocket surprise or two. Watch this space.

IT'S HERE! The once-a-decade Sight & Sound Critics Poll is perhaps THE definitive listing of the greatest movies ever made, and we are pleased to present it all: the top 250 (actually 264), all in the space of 16 minutes. Share! Enjoy! Argue! All of that!

youtu.be/GIHuwmkU0kE
The Entire 2022 Sight & Sound Movie Poll (Long Version) in 16 Minutes
Every ten years since 1952, Sight & Sound Magazine and the British Film Institute have polled hundreds of critics from around the world, asking them only one question: what are the greatest films ever made? Some consider it the definitive greatest-of-all-time list, some a conversation starter, some a load of elitist nonsense—sometimes all three. The 2022 edition proved to be everything you'd want from such a list: diverse, controversial, a little peculiar, but never boring. Reckoned Opinions is pleased to present the results of that poll, with the top 250 (actually 264) titles in ranked order. Enjoy, and please comment with your thoughts! – – – – – – – – – – – – – Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/reckonedopinions Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/reckoned.opinions BlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/reckonedopinions.bsky.social Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/reckonedopinion This video features materials protected by the Fair Use guidelines of Section 107 of the Copyright Act.
