A few very rough sketches of Lyle Wainfleet with my favorite trope: "uber masculine guy has not felt a genuinely tender hand since probably early childhood." I could draw/write it 10,000 times and never get sick of it. In the main sketch, Quaritch is out of frame except for his hands, which weave between Wainfleet's arms to caress his face. Lyle is flustered and confused by this, blurting an unsure "Uh—" before presumably being cut off by Q, who lifts his chin to kiss him on the nose. The 2nd sketch is smaller and simpler, but emphasizes Lyle's shocked reaction by what little of his face we can see. Still confused, but with the beginnings of stronger emotions. A chopped-off third sketch shows part of Lyle's face with exaggerated Ghibli tears rolling down his cheeks. Something something trad masculine gender roles reinforce a dynamic that encourages everyone (including themselves) to ignore or shame the emotional needs of dudes despite all humans wanting like touch and gentleness and desire—basically all the stuff expected of you to give as a Provider™ but never receive unless it's under the guise of a power fantasy. Anyway Quaritch is an old bisexual king he dgaf about allat lol. At least not in these sketches.
