A lot of people are going to die from this
First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year.

“'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'"

Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder.

The cancellation plays into fears among scientists who worry that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will use his position as health secretary to sow doubts about vaccines.

CONGRESS! DO YOUR JOB!

THIS IS A MASSIVE SECURITY RISK TO OUR DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL INTERESTS, TOTAL ABROGATION OF POWER, AND THE WAY YOU LOSE THE POWER OF THE PURSE (about the only power you've tried to keep).

We have now entered the "Find Out" portion of the FAFO stage of democracy.

Reminder...

Prosecuting a political or non-political person for breaking the law is called 'due process' or holding accountable for one's actions. It's the definition of legal and our legal system.

Firing people for doing their job is weaponization of the Justice department.

Defunding the science, research, and development that undergirded the American economy during and since WWII is the opposite of American exceptionalism.

Who does this benefit?
1. Less diverse, effective NASA? I know a few billionaires in the space game.

2. Cutting research funding?
1. Hurts all
I had a whole chapter in NOT A SCIENTIST about the tactic of touting some generally popular government endeavor while simultaneously trying to gut its funding, and the two big examples were NASA and NIH. Now they’re not even bothering with step one.
I have heard some internal confirmation that NIH study sections are being suspended theoretically under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. Which is insane.
