Bit of choirs, bit of pensions, mostly nonsense.
Oh sweet. I've been waiting for this for a while.
And to my shame, I've not actually watched a Bridge too far yet... 😅

You should send that to InstaChris!

Ah. I see the problem, you're watching the wrong show 😉 I think I'd prefer it if the round table votes came with little electric shocks.

Hard disagree. Non celebs = more peril (they have a chance to win cash for themselves)and because they don't know each other already, they're really making new friendships or are more willing to take lumps out of each other.
Tbf there is *no* reality show for which I'd rather see a celeb version.

Maybe it's only really an emergency if everybody isn't on their Christmas break 😏

I really enjoyed this, thanks. Writing for, and treatment of, Jo character is absolutely shocking. Though it is still a great film, I wonder how it would look if remade today...

O sacred head, sore wounded...

The homage to "walking in a winter wonderland" you can hear in the music when they first break into the building.

Came here to say this. Gutted but not surprised to have been pipped at the post.

Worse than the flute in the Mamas and the Papas California Dreaming?

Yes! Also as a harmony singer, it's annoying if the layout changes (i.e. open to closed score) on a page turn. Much as it pains me, I think tenors have that the worst, shifting clef at the same time.

I didn't conquer the big S until I was in my late 30s. It taunted me for 20 years, the thing I never got around to, always put off for something else. Finished my 3rd reading of LOTR last year including the intro and appendices. My 13yo now reads all the Tolkein we have in the house, every Christmas.

Ah fair enough! Lots to do in short time, I expect

Did you make it to Canterbury?
December 14, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Rose beard baubles for this morning. Very silly.
December 14, 2025 at 4:51 PM
Enjoy. Go to St Martin's. Stop in at St Paul's. Say a little prayer for the choir director...

This is a tremendous article which makes me want to know everything and nothing about this whole saga at the same time. I think I'll just stick with Helen's review and gently push it on down the canal with my barge pole.

Aaargh! Any basses near Oxford free this afternoon/evening? I'm a bass down (out of two). Rehearsal 4pm. Help!

Canterbury is an hour from st pancras international train station, if it helps.

I think you'd like it. I think you can do the cathedral/the abbey/St Martin's (and pop into St Paul's on your way back) all in one glorious hit.

Welcome to the UK! Are you seeing Canterbury on your visit?
