If they want to be in Denver I would say Lowry or Central Park, both walkable neighborhoods. Jefferson Park is a pretty cool walkable neighborhood closer to downtown. Otherwise, Littleton, great downtown area and close to transit to get into the city. Might be a better vibe for older couples.
