I worked with an Autistic child for 3 years before I had to retire.
What an uplifting yet challenging experience. He was 5 when I came along. The words he could say were: Grandma (gamma), blue chips (Doritos), gum, No, and yes. He would only eat chicken nuggets. But man, he is intelligent.
