What these universities do not tell you is that they usually have consulting firms swarming them like flies with retainer fees. I know of one firm that has 3 different consultation contracts with a university worth 15k a piece per month.

Don’t forget micromanage/overmanage skilled staff labor and then underpay the rest under attrition which leaves faculty to perform tasks and equipment they aren’t rated or trained to deal with.

The 25 years is due to the age of the person slowing down their reaction times to very *fast* scenarios necessitating quick thinking and actions to ensure planes don’t crash.
