This is great advice and looks good with what you're sharing.

"Brevity is the soul of wit" is a guiding principle for me… I just have to do a lot of editing to get from thought to wit. 😅

What I have up now is pretty solid for game UX work, but I haven't had much luck courting tech UX & product design.

It's a bad time across industries, so it seems all the more important to have impeccable presentation.

I've been working on my portfolio for a while. The content is mostly in place, but I need to turn some of the work into a case study format, which means finding or recreating parts of the process.

The worst part is writing copy, knowing most hiring managers will just skim it at best.

I was going to look back into Affinity tools (Designer, Photo, Publisher)… only to find they've put purchases on hold until October 31st without much messaging about why.

I'm curious to see how Canva's purchase of Serif changes things for upcoming versions.

The full moon made a beautifully eerie silhouette of the rooftop architectural elements in my 1800's Edinburgh neighborhood.
Photo of the full moon rising from behind the silhouette of metalwork and a architectural urn on the roof of an Edinburgh flat from the 1800's.

It's such a nice touch. Added bonus that the UI looks great too.

Wow, I hadn't heard this side of his work. Thanks for your continued help getting me deeper into Killing Joke.

I'm kind of shocked to hear a Super Giant Game having a stinker of an ending. I guess I still have time ahead of me to enjoy.

I'll circle back to this when I can compare notes.

I'm 80 hours in (played a lot of Early Access), have defeated Chronos multiple times, and I haven't felt close to ending the main story.

I'm trying to sus out if you're talking about beating Chronos once, or beating him a lot.

Ending as in ten hours of play, or ending as in eighty hours of play?

For a long time, I thought the band had two vocalists. I didn't expect that much range from Jaz Coleman until I started finding out more about the band.

I worked at a chain of computer stores called "PC Club" in Southern California, that was a pretty wild expereince.

Have you tried pizza yet? I've found that chain pizza shops in the Netherlands, France, and UK all taste like microwave pizza compared to the US verisons. Ironically, it might be a consequence of better ingredients, but the taste is way down.

You can get good pizza here, but you don't get mailers.

A few months ago we went to a Taco Bell downtown with another American friend and their Spanish BF. It was the first time going to Taco Bell in 7+ years. There was a fun nostaliga to going.

Getting a fresh baguette warm from the over with the nice butter with sea salt crystals on top is a top 10 life experience for me, and something I've missed dearly since moving to Edinburgh. 🥖

In college, I didn't realize I was the "bad room mate" until we got a worse roommate (me doing the dishes as 9AM on a weekend was outshined by the new roommate grinding coffee at 6AM).

Reading this book has me worrying "is this how I've come off to others, who aren't as online as me." 😅

I'm shocked this book was put out by an academic press.

This is a book about writing that I've gone from reading to skimming, trying to find the rhyme or reason. I struggle to get excited about how topics are framed. They'll share an important idea then caveat it with Twitter University rhetoric.

I never have cash on me, so I'll keep it on hand for my regular knitting group's tip jar.
