Maybe Obama hasn’t commented because he knows Mamdani has made promises he won’t be able to keep? It’s not enough to win an election. In the end he will have to govern. Obama knows from experience how hard that is in our political environment.

You may not like the timing, but the issue is relevant. It’s the primary reason why we’re in the mess we’re in. Biden’s ego prevented him from doing what was best for the country.

I don’t think it’s as simple as requiring companies to pay a higher minimum wage. The structural imbalances would create hardship for many small businesses. A combination of tax relief for lower wage workers and incentives for companies to pay higher wages would be more effective in my opinion.
