This one seems to have found a way to surpass that instinct, growing exponentially larger and attaining many alternate limb attributes such as grabber tentacles usually only seen in deep sea cephalopods, multiple rows of teeth, and branching horns far larger than the usual display many males -

easily be twice that age. They are a genus that grow indefinitely; but usually die, succumbing to starvation when they reach the breeding stage of their life cycle, instead devoting all focus to their eggs to ensure their safety and survival. -

Though we weren’t able to see it, we were able to track it. Only when it was too late to alarm and scare away the pod for their own defence did it emerge from one of the caverns.
God above, I have never seen a horned octopus so large. Many never make it beyond their 25th year, but this one seems to-

chasing fish and swimming about their parent, chasing bubbles they blew for them before dipping back down to skirt along the small cave openings, peaking inside as if something was within. Our sonar indeed picked up something large moving somewhere below, perhaps a sperm whale. -

I was overjoyed to see the clearest picture yet of this pod of Diabolioura, an exceedingly rare species of Mer-kind, thought to be extinct. Though I am sad to have not found some new species, I am however the first to find one of this size. -

Upon request, I was able to have several more cameras set up around the North Sea mine field as sonar continuously seemed to pick up chatter in that area despite the danger. Our cameras only go off when movement is sensed to reserve power - something exceedingly important during the war effort. -
