Having a great weekend in London meeting old friends, walking the city, checking out exhibitions and visiting old haunts.

Can’t believe myself and Clare could live in this place, right beside Victoria park, in our mid/late 20s when we were totally broke. Probably unobtainable now for young people.

My brain is still reeling from my holiday - 6 cities (and 2 towns) in 2 weeks. But exposing the kids to multiple places, languages, food, cultures and histories was totally worth it.

Halfway through our interrailing trip - Berlin / Prague / cesky krumlov - off to Budapest tomorrow via Vienna today. Exhausting but great fun and kids loving it!

Interrailing with the kids is fantastic. Lots of great chats and totally falling in love with cities all over again.

Morning walk around Prenzlauerberg neighbourhood in Berlin. Fav thing to do is walk in a city in the morning as it wakes up - kids off to school & people walking dogs.

Father’s Day pressie was a trip to 14 Henrietta Street and then stoneybatter festival. Brilliant museum - telling the story of the city through a single house, from Georgian Dublin to 20th century slum tenements.

The council acquired this site (and the whole block) under the 1966 Fenian Street CPO and the buildings were demolished. I think the current building on the site is from early 2000s.

Here is Burke's during demolition

🧵 Was looking up a site for work - old Lolly & Cooks retail unit corner of Holles Street / Fenian Street - and got curious about its history. Turns out to be a really fascinating and fairly important in the history of the city, a housing crisis and the council.

This was the first thing I worked with @taraannosaur.bsky.social on - also found this gem we pitched to libraries.

Accidental daylighting of the Bradogue river today on grangegorman upper. Only about 2 inches of it between the pipe and the grate but still.
