The megaphone represents actual art. Dave tying the squirrel to the megaphone to do no actual work to change its function and claiming he created something is the comparison to AI. It isn't a commentary on the quality of the show, just using one of its jokes to illustrate a point.

The source book had Sekiro style prosthetics and I thought "I can make a character around that" and I went all in... Don't... Don't ever let me play poker.
