Finding my way to Kyudo.
Pratiquante de kyudo près de Nancy.
社会人弓道 • フランス在住
Note : Many terms in kyudo are read using onyomi.
A teacher told me that 金的 should be read kinteki rather than kinmato. I am very grateful to her for this clarification.

The kyudo bow (yumi) is asymmetrical. If an AI model is expected to generate relevant content, this characteristic should be taken into account during data scraping.

It is rare to see hitotsumato sharei performed by two people, not to mention by two renowned late sensei: Satake Mariko Hanshi (d. 2025) and Yoshimoto Kiyonobu Hanshi (d. 2022).
(Shared with Satake family consent by Yoshimoto Sensei’s son.)

One fascinating part of 𝘬𝘺𝘶𝘥𝘰 is the craftsmanship. I made this 𝘵𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪 as a thank-you gift for a 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘪.

[Last training session of 2025]

Some milestones:
- A full 𝘺𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘦𝘳𝘪 (not every time yet)
- A clearer awareness of force transfer when entering 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯 (𝘶𝘬𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪)
- First feeling of 𝘵𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘪 and 𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘪

To improve:
- A more consistent 𝘺𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘦𝘳𝘪
- Stronger, more balanced back muscles
- Greater endurance

[Training note]
I was recently told that my ya were too long for my yumi, so a senpai from our club helped me cut them shorter. Even though the difference is only a couple of cm, I can really feel a big change in the weight. I’ll need some extra training to adapt to this new setup.

[Celebrating our Video Shinsa Results]
This year, three members of our club were promoted through the video shinsa. We marked the occasion with a sharei, a mini-competition (four arrows because time was tight), and wrapped things up with snacks, pain d’épices, and drinks.
