that begs the question,
why hasn't everything become dark theme? I really think this could be a societal benefit, protecting our eyes by reducing blue light, and potentially even saving energy on the gradual scale.

You can NEVER blame DEI hiring in the military. Every service member must be trained and/or certified for their position(s), and all are subject to meritocratic practice REGARDLESS of race, sex, orientation, etc. The ONLY variable that changes with DEI hiring is minority status.
