Today the EU parliament voted to ban the word burger 🍔 if they are made with plant protein, instead of animal protein...

They claim it’s to stop consumers being ‘confused between meat and plant products’ - solving a problem that nobody had!

This new rule leaves a bad taste in the mouth. 👎

Anything that brings an end to the human suffering in Gaza closer should be embraced. For a long and lasting peace a lot more will be necessary, but let’s start by joined international efforts to bring relief aid to Gaza as quickly as possible!

A major problem in the EU is the veto system. An even bigger one is how Orbán uses it as blackmail, blocking progress again and again.

On something as crucial as Ukraine’s EU candidacy, the Dutch government is being incredibly shortsighted by clinging to veto powers.

I couldn’t believe my ears hearing Trump at the UN say:

“Ukraine could fight and win back all their territory with the financial support of NATO.” He even encouraged Ukraine to act on this new opportunity.

Finally, a stance I can get behind. At first glance, great news!

But what about tomorrow?

De oorlog met Rusland komt juist dichterbij als we de intimidaties in ons Europese luchtruim maar blijven toestaan. Poetin verstaat geen taal met woorden, alleen die van daden.

Great news: new and much stronger EU sanctions on Russia, including a ban on LNG before 2027. But the real game changer would be an agreement on the frozen Russian assets. It is now up to Trump to show he is serious about new sanctions on Russia too.
