Hand brace drills appear as far back as the 1400s in Flanders. In the early 19th Century the industrial revolution allowed for production of new, more accurate, pinion wheel hand drills. The fore-runner of the modern hand drill... they are still available for purchase today at Belfield Stores!

The symbol that appears on mailboxes represents the brass horn that was sounded by Mail Coach Guards in the 19th Century. It warned that, for the safety of the mail, they would not stop for any reason. We don't sell mail horns, but we do sell plastic and metal postboxes with sturdy locks and keys.

At Belfield Hardware Stores one of our favourite tasks is refurbishing trusty old tools. This Felco 160S had been used to cut steel wire and was in need of some care. We sourced and fitted a new blade and spring. The secateurs are now "as new" and our customer was delighted to have them back.
