My babies Smokey Joe and Dharma Rose used to go everywhere with me. Now they are older (10 and almost 14) and don’t like long drives. So I refrain from traveling as best I can. We get a housesitter (family) when we have to.

Made a batch of zucchini relish today. Fresh zukes from my garden (tis the season!). Sweet and tangy with mix of middle eastern and southern spices. Like piccalilli, only different.

In response to the current administration, I turned this empty lot into a garden. The chaos of weeds is now collards, broccoli, spinach, beans, tomatoes and inner peace.

This little girl turned 13 this past week. My sweet Dharma Rose. My once-in-a-lifetime dog. We have been through so much together, some of which I wouldn’t have survived without her. Happy Birthday sweet girl ❤️
