(also with size bonuses it doesn't work exactly like this, I'm exaggerating.) It's a good measure and I'm glad we have something like this internalized, but it doesn't exactly represent Event Status.

Like this is a measure of how hard a tournament is to win, once you're already in Top 8. But to some extent this actually makes it harder to tell what's a major and what's not, because low-cultural-impact events that just happen to be very top heavy (often because of prize money) are boosted up

on the other hand, I think this is why things like Valve's official "Valve Major" designation for CS tournaments are so important.
Because under this system a really stacked random barnacle bash with like 9 teams but they're all gods is given the same importance as, like, Superjump 5.
