I think there is a wide range of situations people are in. Some are mainly dealing with the financial impacts and know that eventually things will reopen and they will get back pay. They may or may not need help in the meantime.

Yes, but some employees have already been told to prepare to close things down. I agree calling your representatives is vital though.

People need to start becoming alarmed about the Department of Interior eliminating their biological research. They are not just scaling it back but eliminating this function of the USGS entirely.
