My notes app is where I penned a lot of the poems in my debut and is where I’m writing my new book. Between my dog and baby (now toddler), there is always someone in my lap snuggling. Using my phone is how I get words in. #writers

You?

I’m writing what I hope will be the final draft of a novel in verse. It’s something I’ve wanted to do forever. A beautiful book on topic I care deeply about and a MC I would have loved to have been friends with.

I’ve been haiku-ing it up this month. This week I’m all about love (good and bad).

I want to like it here on Bluesky. I’m so lost. I just want a space to connect with others.

What if you spend the rest of your life chasing love.
Only to find her cowering in the pit of your stomach.
What then?

From my collection Almost Loved. Perfect for anyone navigating complicated family dynamics.

Today is the last day Almost Loved is available to read on Kindle Unlimited.

My toddler has seen me cry a lot in the last few days as I grieve the loss of my grandma. She brought me a tissue which just made me cry harder. I’m raising a kind and loving human. My grandma would be proud.

This year I want to play more and that means I will likely create a lot of crappy art in the process.

If you are an artist say hi, so I can check out your page. I would love to connect with some mixed media artists especially if you combine writing with art.

ADHD + CPTSD + Mommy Brain =

Thinking I responded to an email but in reality didn’t.
A week passing is actually a month (constantly missing time).
Takes very little to feel overwhelmed.

What are you reading/listening to?

I’m listening to the house of my mother. 😲😔

One of my future stretch goals is to have a mixed media poetry exhibit. Tonight, I was supposed to go to a session on how to prepare for that and get a tour of a gallery. But it was complete whiteout on the roads and I couldn’t justify driving in those conditions. 😭😭

Corn chowder reminds me of my grandma. She lived in Taber which was perfect for growing corn.
Her whole backyard was a garden. I remember watering the corn and running through the stalks in my bare feet and letting dirt squish in my toes. It felt like freedom and joy.
