Why make Bertilak essentially steal his kiss, and why make Gawain so clearly offended by it? It makes it seem more like harassment or predatory from Bertilak as opposed a freely exchanged understanding

Sure it's a pretty movie too look at, but I just can't understand why you'd take the queer aspect of the story, arguably the main reason that story even holds any unique modern scholastic relevance, and completely invert it.
