Hey #FIFA what’s the point of giving people a “window” to get in line to buy #FIFAWorldCup tickets if it NEVER OPENS??

I kinda remember Trump pardoning a bunch of people for this, many of whom beat up cops and put them in the hospital. I think they were yelling something about the Vice President as they stormed the building.

The sort of people the administration calls 'terrorists' :

"[the 84 year olds] were rushed by federal officers “for no apparent reason.” She said her husband was leaning on his walker and wearing his Vietnam veterans cap as he was pushed to the ground."

Joni Ernst’s lifelong legacy for women serving in the military from her time in the Senate is Pete Hegseth.

Every woman denied promotion, denied a job specialty, sexually harassed, or forced out for bs reasons, owes it all to Ernst and the Republican Party.

The Supreme Court simply has no legitimacy.

Allowing racist profiling here but not allowing race to be considered for college admissions tells you all you need to know.

BREAKING: By an apparent 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court halts an injunction that had prevented immigration agents from racially profiling Latinos in central California.

Sotomayor, dissenting, says the decision is "unconscionably irreconcilable with our nation's constitutional guarantees."

Military honors for Ashli Babbitt "tells those who gave their lives in defense of the Constitution that their oath was no more meaningful than the motivations of the mob that attacked the Constitution."
Honoring Ashli Babbitt Dishonors the Military
If there’s no difference between upholding the Constitution and attacking it, then there’s no honor in service.

The Guardian has today printed the names, and where possible, images, of all the media workers killed in Gaza, as part of an international day of action involving more than 150 media organisations.

It is very basic: mercenaries or PMCs are not valid security guarantors precisely because their lives are irrelevant for domestic audiences.

The whole idea of having foreign troops in Ukraine to guarantee security is that their deaths would force the hands of the country deploying them 1/x

⚡ US President Donald Trump is holding talks with European allies on the possible deployment of American private military contractors in Ukraine as part of a future peace agreement.
Trump Eyes Private Armies for Ukraine Instead of US Peacekeepers

A useful definition of Concentration camp that helps get beyond debates that might exclude certain camps from the term based on assumption that certain nations or governmental types don’t use them.

#OneLongNight
"Barracks and barbed wire remain their most familiar symbols, but a camp is defined more by its detainees than by any physical feature. A concentration camp exists wherever a government holds a group of civilians outside the normal legal process - sometimes to segregate people considered foreigners or outsiders, sometimes to
punish."

Worth remembering (and pointing out where necessary) that drawing equivalence between raiding Bolton’s house for documents and raiding Mar-a-Lago requires Bolton to have similarly dismissed and worked around demands for their return for months.

I think that would constitute one of the most significant Russia-related purges we have seen to date & with potentially severe consequences for US intelligence analysts' ability to report honestly and candidly on Russia related issues.

We are outraged and deeply distressed that armed federal agents came onto our campus—making arrests on the very ground where, in 1942, Japanese American families were forced to board buses bound for concentration camps. It was a deliberate act of provocation and intimidation.

Last month, Anas al-Sharif sounded the alarm on starvation in Gaza. Israel accused him of terrorism.

"We warned this felt like a precursor to justify assassination," said Jodie Ginsberg of the Committee to Protect Journalists.

Today he was killed in a targeted strike on a tent housing reporters.
