Speaking for myself, after running across the country for the last five years trying to warn folks, only to have people /outlets frantically calling me not to come out and explain what's happening in this environment.. you're too damn late. And I am not risking my safety .

I will say the occasional long form pops up by the @apnews.com especially (thanks you all) but the time it takes for a magazine article to come out in @theatlantic.com or some other outlet is MONTHS. And by then, the deployment of Christian Nationalism has mutated once again.

Then we get critiqued by some who don't think Christian Nationalism exists. Keep on thinking that as you slide into this authoritarian theocratic state.

Today, Josh Hawley -- who voted to overturn the 2020 election after fanning the Big Lie that the election was stolen from Trump, the same lie that fueled the Jan. 6 insurrection that Hawley was egging on -- is outraged the FBI reportedly analyzed some GOP senators' phone records in its Jan. 6 probe.

American Media outlets have a bias about reporting about religion as though it is anathema to critique the theocratic leanings of the current administration. I get more intelligent questions about how Christian Nationalism is operating in America right now from the foreign press.

So since I'm annoyed let me say a few things today.Some folks have been writing about Christian Nationalism and apocalyptic right wing movements for YEARS here in the US. YEARS. Do we get to have a platform in major mags and newspapers... rarely.

We really need to be thinking abt the current regime through the lens of the Second Klan, which helped to nationalize systems of Jim Crow state & vigilante violence & exploitation while creating an explicitly white nationalist immigration system. They even paraded down Pennsylvania Ave.

Two years later. It was, infact, a threat of genocide.
