My high schools in Washington and in California both heavily taught abstinence as the preferred method (2021 grad), which is stupid cuz if there’s a will there’s a way. It’s like they’ve never interacted with teens before.

And I absolutely prefer healthy food but when tilapia is like $12 for 2 fillets at the store wth is going on ? Healthy food has always been inaccessible to the poor these people have no idea what it’s like being forced to make that choice

I’m a broke college student, and the amount of times that I had to eat McDonald’s for dinner because I couldn’t afford chicken or fish just shows that this statement is absolute nonsense. Healthy food is way too expensive, especially when I could get a whole meal at McDonald’s for $2-3 with coupons

When I spoke to my brother about this (voted for trump. Don’t get me started) he heartlessly told me, “it’s the parent’s fault because they put their kids in this situation.” Not even this kind of heartbreaking scenario appeals to them.

My sis-in-law is a doctor in Idaho, and she works at a Medicaid clinic. Considering Idaho is famously deeply red, I wonder how all this nonsense will affect her clinic.

The article you linked above seemed to speak primarily on emergency care, though. Not long-term care. It seems like that they are not “on” Medicaid as a patient. Doctors have a moral obligation to provide care when necessary.

I don’t know about in your state, but in NC when I signed up for Medicaid I needed my SS number. Not sure how an undocumented immigrant could get that (unless I am missing some info regarding that).
