Not yet a Renaissance Man, so you'll have to settle for a Renaissance Monster. Enthusiast for the human race. Repeat does not imply endorsement.

I didn't expect the Rudolph/Little Shop of Horrors crossover reference from you, Tom. 👍👍

I love this to an unreasonable degree.

Various parts of my brain insist on imagining this statement coming from the 'Family Guy' character. My sincere apologies, Mr. Giffiths.

With hindsight, it's not at all clear that Gary Hart had an affair. It seems much more likely that the most he was guilty was poor judgement in allowing a photo of an attractive young woman sitting on his lap. Unless you're talking about a different incident.

1) these examples are the part of the iceberg you see
2) I think you lack understanding of how the chain of command works
3)I think you don't understand the process of how officers resign their commissions.
4) this huge problem is not what you think it is, also, you're self-contradicting.

There was definitely lumping, and you've ignored the fact that at least one commander is retiring early and an unnamed JAG officer was relieved under what seems like prejudice for refusing to sign off on the strikes. It doesn't have to be a hill to die on, just adjust and move on.

Lol, I have a bit of a prejudice against fictional characters, but someone like, say Chesty Puller or Lance Sijan would agree. It's definitely in that spirit.

Not saying that to be grim, but you gotta embrace the suck. If you can't go through something, go over it. Flank it. There's always one more thing to try.

Grind. Never ever give up, till we die. And then go down swinging.

Moreover, I think he would agree the creeping expanded power of the executive branch post WWII, right or wrong, avoidable or not, has consequences, and is necessary context. Again, I will happily stand corrected if he weighs in.

Have you attended any of his lectures? Because I have. Why don't you let him disagree if he wants to? If so, I will happily shut up. Reasonably sure he's not gong to feel personally attacked over a minor point.

Greatest =/= perfect. You never get to perfect in any complex system. Any improvement is incremental, there is rarely if ever a massive change without massive unforseen consequences. It doesn't happen in politics, engineering, economics, or biology. Anyone who says different is selling something.

It's not a war crime because there's no war. It's garden variety murder with high-tech tools. it's the same as a (supposed) gang member whacked by another gang for slinging on an owned corner, any difference in principle is minimal. We just don't know Kegsbreath slings dope. It wouldn't surprise.

I would point out it's not really fair to blame the entire country for something that by nature was conducted by an extremely limited number of people with an extremely limited budget. There is no country that's a monolith. The reason it's *Saudi* Arabia is one family.

That might be trouble in river city.

Also, Happy Thanksgiving.

No, it's not. The standards change over time, and it's not a simple question of 'how many people desire to do this job'. Way more *qualified* people want to do the job than will ever be accepted. This isn't unique to the US. It applies to Russian Cosmonauts and Chinese Taikonauts.

You're sort of missing the point. Do you know anybody who works in a college admissions department, in a hiring position in HR, or as a hiring manager?
