the problem is that these tools are very good at making things that LOOK good at first glance, but bad at making things that actually ARE good
they encourage ALL contributors to put in less effort, not just randos, while increasing the effort needed to review their quality

i made most of the program super extensible so it'd be easy to add new connections later, but Actions were only used for VTS at the time, so I must've skipped designing extensibility there
