Please ensure when you change batteries to check that isn't the issue before bringing your item in, that you are putting in a new or fully charged rechargeable battery.

The queue is about 20 minutes at the moment so if you have items to bring - we have space for you!

We are surprisingly busy given the storm - apparently you're all using the bad weather to get your broken items fixed for free (and get a warm drink and some biscuits)

Unfortunately our team of sewing experts won't be with us for our October repair café this Saturday so we won't be able to fix your textile items.

We are also looking for volunteers - so if you're a whiz with a needle and thread, let us know!

Flint the teddy wants to remind you that if you don't want to be in photos at our repair cafe, you can pick up a "no pictures please" badge as you arrive - this lets our photographer see easily who has opted out.

Flint was brought in by a woman whose mum had […]

We had a wonderful time looking at (and playing with) Lady Penelope's car at June's repair cafe!

Gary managed to get the lights working but not the motor. Even so, the owner was very happy to have at least one thing fixed.

We're back at Barry library on Saturday […]

In the foreground is a table with an old box on it and Gary, a man with light skin tone and short grey hair, working on a toy pink car, the batteries for it attached by a wire, while a woman with light skin tone and blonde hair waits. Behind them the rest of the repair cafe looks busy. the inside of Lady Penelope's toy car; a black base with some car style seats and wheels, a pink figure with blonde hair sits on the back and a brown figure wearing a cap in the driver's seat. A slightly battered box with "Lady Penelope's Fab 1 battery operated scale model, remote control" written on it. Due to many of our volunteers being unavailable this month, we are cancelling our September cafe - maybe Richard brought us bad luck opening an umbrella indoors in August!

We'll be back on October 4th with a, hopefully, well rested team of fixers!

We were pleased to welcome some of Barry's kids to our repair cafe this month, and we certainly hope they had fun!

Many of our fixers are happy to chat through what they're doing and teach children (and bid kids!) a little about the item itself and how it works […]

We've had a few questions about why we can't fix microwaves recently and now #repaircafe Wales has provided a super useful post that explains that and other reasons we can't attempt to fix certain things.

"Please don’t bring these items... we can’t fix them! Our […]

Green background with a red fridge, white washing machine and silver dishwasher on it. Text reads "Here's what we can't fix and why. White goods. They're too big and heavy to handle safely in pop-up venues. We also don't have the tools for moving or repairing pressurised systems. A pale red background with a child's car seat and motorcycle helmet on it. Text overlaid reads "here's what we can't fix and why. Safety equipment. They must meet strict safety standards and can be weakened by wear, accidents, or even small damage. Once broken or expired, they should always be replaced, never repaired." A red background with a microwave on it. Text reads "here's what we can't fix and why. Microwaves. Too risky! They contain high-voltage parts that can stay live even when unplugged."
