In NYC, at least 5 children have been detained.

A child in my district was deported days before the start of the school year.

We are demanding answers on why K-12 students are being arrested and whether the Department of Education is fulfilling their obligations to students in custody.

The death of Judith Byron, 75, in Sunset Park is an absolute tragedy. A cowardly driver ran a red light, killed a neighbor, and fled. This conduct is unacceptable.

We are in a Republican-created health care crisis. Premiums are rising. Hospitals, nursing homes and community health centers are closing. Doctors are in short supply.

Last week, Comptroller Lander and I demanded DOJ criminally investigate an ICE agent who assaulted a mother in front of her two children.

Her decision to reinstate the officer who assaulted an asylum seeker is clearly viewed by other ICE agents as license to violently attack civilians.
