House Republicans are refusing to return to Washington to vote on a bipartisan bill to pay our troops. Congress has done this in previous shutdowns. Next Wednesday, service members will miss their paycheck because of the Republican shutdown.

Federal workers are entitled to back pay after a government shutdown is over. It’s the law. Period.

Trump & Republicans need to stop coming up with new ways of punishing Americans & get serious about ending the shutdown.

Trump also said at the White House that if the shutdown drags on several days longer, a "substantial" number of jobs "will never come back."
