It has been one week of the Republican shutdown. Notices about premium hikes started being mailed out last week. You might get one soon. I will never support a partisan plan that continues to ignore the healthcare crisis Republicans have created in this country.

Today, we remember the lives lost on October 7 and every life taken in this conflict. In the two years since this brutal act of terrorism, the suffering has been horrific. The pain must end. We need a permanent ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and a surge of aid for Gaza.

Premiums are already too high—I hear it from people every day. And if Trump won’t come to the table, people will go bankrupt over care, they won’t be able to afford their prescriptions at the pharmacy, they might not be able to get care at all. Republicans don’t give a damn.

Donald Trump wanted a shutdown.

Republicans gave it to him because they don’t care about doing what they were elected to do. They don’t want to serve the people, lower health costs, or do *anything* to make life easier for everyday Americans.

Trump said he'd cut costs on day one. In reality: costs are up across the board because of his tariffs and Big Ugly Bill. Now, he and his party shut down the government because they won't even consider making a deal to stop health costs from skyrocketing.
