The ICE raid in Chicago in the middle of the night was an assault on humanity. Agents stormed into a high rise apartment, tore children from their parents, and left an entire community traumatized. This was not law enforcement, and I stand with my colleagues in Chicago in condemning it.

Two days into a Republican government shutdown and the Department of Energy just cancelled over $1.4 billion worth of energy projects in CA-12.   This means two things for our district: higher energy costs and massive job losses.  Cruelty is the point. Californians deserve better.
