Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Greater Family Health’s Palatine Health Center and tour their expanded facility. It was great to meet with their team and learn more about the comprehensive services they provide as a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Illinois Association of Park Districts Luncheon that celebrates the outstanding achievements of Illinois park districts, their dedicated staff, and commissioners.

The Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a National Civics Bee, where 6th to 8th grade students can submit an essay on how civics can be used to improve their community.

Last week, we filed Marin’s Law. This bill is named after Marin Lacson, a wonderful and bright Barrington High School student who was tragically killed while walking to school at a railroad crossing without pedestrian gates.

I had a great time visiting Lincoln Elementary School and seeing the Parent Mentor Program in action. I have heard so many great things about the program in Springfield and being able to see firsthand how beneficial this program is for students, parents, and teachers was great.

Our office is partnering with the Cook County Board of Review, the Palatine Township, and local elected officials to host an in-person property tax appeal assistance event to help residents understand their bill, get questions answered, and submit completed appeals.

Our first office hours of the year are in the books! Thank you to everyone who braved the wintry weather to stop by, share your questions, get connected to resources, and talk through legislative issues. We always appreciate the chance to meet with constituents. Until next time!
