The shutdown by President Trump and Republicans is hurting Americans. Airports are now facing flight delays and cancellations without enough air traffic controllers to keep people safe. This will only get worse the longer Republicans refuse to negotiate in good faith.

This is blatantly illegal and needlessly cruel. Federal workers keep us safe and keep the country running smoothly. President Trump must stop using them as pawns in his attempts to stop Democrats from fighting for Americans’ health care.

Federal employees keep us safe and keep the country running smoothly. It’s day 1 of the shutdown and President Trump is talking about using it to punish Democrats and fire critical people. He’s wasting time and resources and it’s the opposite of what Americans deserve right now.

President Trump - the self proclaimed “deal maker” - knew government funding would run out on Sept. 30. He knew Americans would get notices today that their healthcare bills will go up because of the “Big Beautiful Bill” written & passed by Republicans. Delaying a funding bill now is unacceptable.

In Tuesday’s @energycommerce.bsky.social hearing, I asked why the already 80% complete Revolution Wind project was cancelled, seemingly without reason. The Acting General Counsel for the Department of Energy didn’t have much of an answer.

America faces a choice: cheap, abundant energy from all-of-the-above sources OR higher prices, falling behind China, and more blackouts. We must update our environmental laws to meet today’s challenges and invest in a grid for this century. This plan would get it done.
