PA State Representative (HD-29), husband, dad, first generation college graduate, grew up waiting tables, small business owner (x2), attorney for working people.
Merry Christmas! I’m reminded this time of year of Louisa May Alcott’s words: “Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”

May this season bring peace, connection, & moments of joy to our homes & community.

I hope you take a moment to read my thoughts on the horrific gun violence that unfolded over the past weekend.

Had an excellent visit at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Training Center to see their apprenticeship programs in action. We fought for state budget investments in apprenticeships because they build stable careers & the skilled workforce PA needs for our future.

On World AIDS Day, I'm thinking about the lives lost & the heartbreaking stigma HIV/AIDS brought. We owe gratitude to those who undertook advocacy & research; my friends diagnosed with HIV as young adults are thriving. Still, we have room to expand access to care in PA.

I'm heartened that the new state budget includes $25 million to renew the wildly successful Solar for Schools program. This fantastic initiative led by Rep. Fiedler is saving school districts $$ *and* strengthening the grid for everyone else. youtube.com/watch?v=uDuO2FREGsw

@lgaustindavis.bsky.social's stirring speech at Bucks County NAACP's annual banquet asked us to remember that progress in the ways we deliver justice are too important to wait. Gratitude to the award recipients, and to the Bucks County NAACP for their outstanding work over the years.

As a student of law and history, I know governments are key to improving people’s lives. In House Appropriations, we stayed in Harrisburg long after the Senate left town to work on bipartisan budget proposals. Read my response to the ongoing impasse: pahouse.com/brennan/InTheNews/Opinion/?id=140959
On the PA State Budget Impasse
One of the school districts in Bucks County may have to shut down entirely on Jan. 30 if both the federal and Pennsylvania state government budget impasses continue. Colleagues and I joined Morrisville School District Superintendent Dr. Andrew Doster at a press conference in late October to stand...

Gov. Shapiro announced yesterday that he signed onto a lawsuit with about two dozen other governors to sue the Trump administration, demanding it uses available federal contingency funding to sustain SNAP during the federal budget impasse. (1/2)

Yesterday we remembered former state Rep. EJ Lucyk, who I was able to proudly call my friend. For more than 20 years he served our Commonwealth in the #PAHouse, making Pennsylvania a better place for all. Thank you EJ for your service and example. #RIP youtu.be/UdUCjC1v_bU

Today marks seven years since the horrific shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh — an act of antisemitic hatred that took the lives of eleven people. Remembering those who were killed and their loved ones is imperative to support the healing of their communities.

My team and I had a wonderful time observing Diwali with the Desis of Doylestown at their 5th Annual Diwali Celebration! The Desis always invites the entire community -- people of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities -- to take part in this joyful festival of lights.

I joined fellow Bucks reps & our constituents to urge state Senators to listen to Pennsylvanians who rely on public transit like SEPTA—not party leaders in Harrisburg. Withholding vital services from workers, seniors, veterans, & people w/ disabilities is neglect.

Neighbors (especially those of you in Buckingham Township), please anticipate delays on a stretch of Route 413 next week as PennDOT repairs it with new asphalt pavement that provides better sealing and therefore smoother vehicle travel.

The Trump admin removed the 988 crisis hotline's "press 3" option tailored to LGBTQ+ youth.

But our Bucks County neighbors are responding to this attempt at dividing us by joining fellow Americans across the country, renewing our love and support for young people in the LGBTQ+ community.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of what freedom means in America. It marks a pivotal moment in our history and honors the resilience of generations of black Americans who endured so much to claim their liberation. It's also a day to reflect on how our work to pursue equality still continues.
