For nearly 250 years, we have stood as a beacon of liberty for the tired, the poor, the hurdled masses of the world, yearning to breathe free.

No matter who’s in charge, no matter what they do, they cannot erase that. Happy Independence Day. #July4

Whether you’re on Medicaid or not, we will all feel these cuts when rural hospitals, children’s hospitals and OB units start facing closure.

I don’t know about you, but keeping those open are more important than another damn tax cut for the rich.

Quality education is not a one-size-fits-all investment. I’m proud to bring forward a K-12 budget plan that invests in every level of learning, from PreK and literacy support to CTE and teacher retention. @mihousedems.bsky.social are funding a future for all kids.

To the moms and mother figures who raised us, stood by us and lifted us up, thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Thanks to everyone who came to our coffee hour this morning! We had some great conversations about protecting voting rights, preparing for the looming federal cuts, possible bipartisan housing solutions and so much more.

Hope to see you there next month!

MI House GOP allowed antisemitic claims that Jewish Americans were illegally registered to vote, as if their ethnicity proved election rigging.

These antisemitic remarks got a platform today. Culture wars won’t do a damn thing to help Michigan survive this trade war. #MiLeg

Happy Easter to everyone celebrating!

Now, more than ever, take comfort in knowing that renewal comes from personal sacrifice in the pursuit of justice.

Just introduced my first bill! I'm proud to join Reps. @votepenelope.bsky.social, Mike Hoadley and Pat Outman on in this bipartisan package to move the earliest start date for local terms of office to December 1, ensuring military and overseas voters are counted and elections are certified first.

People cannot buy a home, cars are groceries are getting more expensive, yet we’re wasting time to re-litigate an election that’s now 5 years old.

Had a great time stopping by the @mrccunion.bsky.social “Tools to Schools” bus the other week. This amazing program is helping students envision a career in the skilled trades.

Thanks for all you do and letting me drive a few nails in!

So-called “proof of citizenship” are only good at three things: blocking the right to vote, forcing citizens to pay for the right to vote and fostering chaos.

That's why I voted no in committee and joined my colleagues condemning the proposed constitutional amendment.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s address tonight set a tone we must keep to get things done this year, Democrats and Republicans.

I was especially heartened to hear her call for an historic $2 billion investment for housing and permitting reform so we can build, baby, build!

While they campaigned on lowering costs, it’s telling when 12 state house Republicans are chomping at the bit to undo marriage equality.

That’s why I was proud to stand with my fellow @mihousedems.bsky.social defending our LGBTQ friends and family.

MI House Republicans don't run immigration enforcement, but they want to penalize communities that don't meet their definition for fully complying with ICE - even if local practices were made to protect citizens from being wrongfully detained.

Had the opportunity to hear more amazing things being done by our Grand Rapids Public Schools at last night’s “State of our Schools” address.

Enrollment is up. Graduation rates are up. Teacher and driver vacancies are down. Truly a district on the rise!
