Our American friends are gone and their absence will be sharply felt. Here in Canada we need to take this as a serious warning, because our own government is not far behind.

I have my opinions about each one of these politicians but, at the end of the day, Canadians unite and step up to help our neighbors and the international community -- even after weeks of not-so-thinly veiled threats.
