In '87, when the Dead was touring w/Dylan and acting as well as backing him, Bob momentarily forgot the lyrics to Desolation Row, so Weir stepped up and took over (GD had been covering this song for years). There's a great pic of them laughing about it onstage.

Worth a try, but the Miami deal needs to happen or Bron's bailing at the trade deadline. There's an obvious deal (seems to me): Rui/Gabe/DK for Wig/Pelle/Keshad.

Seems like he's going to give it until the trade deadline to see how this iteration of the Lakers improves. Unless there's a significant trade coming, I don't see the team being a significant threat in the Western Conf.

In a vacuum, he's probably not worth that much. However, given the paucity of 2-way wings that might realistically be available, I'd probably pull the trigger if I could get Pelle Larsson and a 2nd included in the deal.

He's going to be embarrassed by how few teams are interested in trading for him. The only thing that makes even marginal sense would be a swap for KAT. I guess CLE might work if there's a 3rd team that wants Garland.

He's likely to be important if Rui is traded. I know the team wants flexibility for next season, but he'd be hard to replace in this market.

I think maybe he realizes how unlikely it is for the Lakers to compete for a title this season, so takes the full $. If things look more promising next season he may well return on a more team-friendly contract. That's the optimistic me creeping back out of the shadows.
