After nearly two years, Gaza’s children are paying the heaviest price of war. Our recent survey found that:

➡️1 in 3 recently went a full day without food
➡️1 in 5 are withdrawn or silent
➡️3 in 4 children under 5 are visibly malnourished

They need protection now.

IRC has provided legal services to more than 5,000 unaccompanied children in recent years. We know the dangers that many of these kids face going back to their home countries. Forcing them to return without a chance to have their case heard places children’s safety and lives at risk.

We are outraged by this action, which is a flagrant violation of due process. US law requires special procedures for unaccompanied children—legal protections that recognize children’s unique vulnerabilities and needs, and allows them a chance to seek protection and stability in the US.

This past weekend, the Trump administration attempted to deport over 100 unaccompanied children to Guatemala in the middle of the night, bypassing legal procedures and subjecting children to a terrifying sequence of events that risks retraumatizing them.
